In her wedding vow, the bride said, “You are one of the most caring people I know. Crazy and emotional at times, but I love it anyway.
In response, the groom said, “...I will treasure you, respect you, and cross every bridge together as your best friend, and now your husband.”
The above was part of a vow exchange between Mitzi Logronio and Chew Wei Keat, during their Boracay wedding on the 6th of April this year.
“I love Boracay. It’s one of those places I can go to again and again. I even brought Wei Keat there twice and he loved it!” Mitzi shared.

Boracay is an island located at Malay, Aklan, which is in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines. It is about an hour away from Manila by flight and is hailed as one of the top 5 islands in Asia by Condé Nast Traveller. In fact, it was named one of the top destinations to visit by The New York Times.
Before Boracay became a popular tourist destination, agriculture was one of the island’s main source of income. A couple, Sofía Gonzáles Tirol and her husband, Lamberto Hontiveros Tirol, got married and decided to settle on the island. Known by some as early settlers in Boracay, Sofía and her husband set out to develop the island by cultivating the lands and planting coconuts, fruit trees, and greenery.
The island natives followed in their footsteps and helped to develop the land on the island. Legend has it that Sofia is the “Woman Behind The Greening Of Boracay Island”.
Years later, in the 1970s, Boracay began to draw interest from foreigners for its picturesque sceneries, dreamy white beaches, and vibrant nightlife. When Boracay got the media’s attention, it even became an attraction for proposals and weddings!
#1 Sunset & White Beaches
“I have seen a lot of sunsets in my 34 years, but none quite like those we saw in Boracay. They were outstanding,” writes travel blogger, Sarah.
Sunsets are one. The second is Boracay’s beaches. Their fine white sand, especially at the White Beach, is something that you cannot miss.
Picture you and your partner having a romantic dinner, or better yet, a wedding on the white sands with a scenic Boracay island sunset as your backdrop. Beautiful, isn’t it?
#2 The Fun Activities!
The nightlife in Boracay is nothing short of spectacular. Pre or post wedding festivities, you and your partner can head to the best underground club on the island, Area 51 Secret Party Facility. Named after the famed top secret US Air Force facility, this club holds some of the island’s largest parties. Apart from music, they have food stalls, tribal drumming, and fire dancing.
In fact, once all your wedding guests have left, you ought to hit the waters and get a glimpse of the sea life in Boracay. Parasailing is one way for you to get an aerial view of this beautiful island. Have a go at the paraw sailboats and you’ll get to explore some of the lesser-travelled beaches and feast your eyes on beautiful sunsets.
Travel blogger, Sarah said: “It’s nothing short of magical seeing all the sailboats heading out to sea at sunset!”
