With so much to do and prepare for before the wedding, where do you even begin? Wouldn’t it be great to uncover some hidden secrets? Little things that could mean the difference between a great wedding and a FANTASTIC one. Well, look no further because we’ve got them right here for you!
Did you know that you should try sitting down during your wedding dress fitting before the tailor makes any alterations to make it smaller? Clothes fit differently when you stand and when you sit. The best way to get the perfect fit for your wedding dress is to try sitting down and get your tailor to alter it just enough so that you’re comfortable. This way, you’ll be comfortable in your dress whether you’re standing or sitting.
Once you’ve picked out your wedding dress, ask if you could have padding sewn into the dress if it doesn’t already come with one. It gives you a much smoother looking silhouette on the day of your wedding and will look great in pictures. Say no to unsightly lines, you’ll be glad you did when you look at your wedding pictures again. And you won’t have to worry about getting the perfect bra to wear with your wedding dress anymore!
Do you know that the food and the music are the two things people remember most about the wedding? Other than how fabulous the bride looked of course. Go all out and ensure the food is nothing but the best and the music puts your guests’ dance skills to the test.
Instead of planning the song list yourself, why not ask your guests? On your RSVP cards, put in an extra line in there asking your guests who are attending to name one song they would like to hear at your reception. It’s a great way to get all your guests excited on the dance floor.
On the day of the wedding, the bride and groom are going to be so busy mingling with all their guests that very often, they don’t have time to eat themselves. You’ve paid for all that good food, you and your hubs should get to enjoy it too! Request that your caterer to pack some of that delicious wedding food and keep it aside for the two of you to enjoy later.
Sure, it is your wedding, but there’s only so much a couple can do. Your family and friends will be more than happy to help, all you have to do is ask.
Let’s face it, speeches are not on everyone’s favourite list. If you’ve been a guest at weddings, you’ve probably been guilty of zoning out or be more interested in your food or your phone during the long-winded speeches. Keep it short, keep it simple and under 2 minutes if possible.
And finally, don’t forget to enjoy the moment! You’ve worked hard to plan your perfect wedding, so be sure to enjoy every moment.
