From the bride:
How we met?
We knew each other through friends. The first time we met was in a fancy pub called Barcode in Taipei. Like all the other fairy tales, we were both attracted to each other at first sight. We just knew he/she is the one! Since Percy lived in China and I lived in Taipei, we flew A LOT! We'd never been apart for more than a week. Either I flew to China, or he flew to Taipei. We just couldn't wait to see each other every time.
How did he (Percy) propose?
One night, as we were talking on FaceTime, Percy said, "We can't always fly like that!" I thought he was going to say something bad. Then he said, "Why don't we get married, so that you can move to China with me." So exactly 3 months after the first day we met, we got married! Yes! 3 months!
About the wedding
Since we lived in China, it was hard to prepare for the wedding in Taiwan. But we still made it and made it perfectly! Everything was the way we wanted. We got a very good team to do the makeup and also a very professional team to take wedding photos as well. After the wedding, many of our friends even asked for their contacts.
The hotel, Grand View Resort, helped the most. A right venue is certainly the key to a perfect wedding! As you walked into this hotel, you would feel relaxed as everything was so classy, elegant but also luxurious, and that’s exactly how our wedding turned out to be. We loved this place right away when we first saw it. In addition, they had a wedding planner to help us with the itinerary, the setup and the music.
The itinerary
I should firstly mention that we didn't want to be like puppets that only did what the host said and did very little talking ourselves, We wanted to actually interact with our guests too.
1. Before the wedding reception, we had a cocktail party.
2. After the wedding started, we had three entrances with three different wedding dresses. The first time, we gave a little talk to thank our parents and guests. The second time we entered, we withdrew a few cards, which our guests wrote to us at the registration table as they arrived. We read out what they wrote, and invited them to the stage. It was fun! When we entered for the third time, we took pictures with all guests and thanked them for coming.
The setup
We had a huge board set up on one wall with our wedding photos on it, guests could see it right away and it was also the backdrop for our photos that we took with guests. We had a long registration table with flowers arranged beautifully on it at the entrance. We also had a photo table with a lot of our other photos on it.
The music
We chose "Canon" for the first entrance, and "When You Say Nothing At All" for the second one. At the end for our third entrance, we played "Sugar". During the whole reception, the hotel had prepared many love songs to play, so we didn't have to worry about it.
