Pronounced as “cow-lak”, the literal translation of the name is a “series of villages”. Previously known for tin mining, this part of Thailand is about two hours north of Phuket and is situated in the Phang Nga region. An interesting fact about this hidden gem in Thailand is that it is home to rare aquatic animals such as dolphins, whale sharks, and whales. In fact, in a recent article by AsiaOne, it was reported that a group of divers had seen more than 30 dolphins swimming past a diving point, Rua Jom Boon Soong in the Takua Pa District of Phang Nga!
