With years of experiences in wedding coordinating and 5 years into wedding planning, Ellie goes all out to ensure every wedding couples have their ideal wedding. We managed to sit down with Ellie to talk about the weddings in Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur.

“We managed to host approximately 50 weddings per year and the usual size for a wedding in the ballroom is around 15 to 40 tables, 80 to 150 guests for Villa Danieli and 70 to 120 guests at the Celestial Court. 70% of our couples are local Malays and Chinese while the remaining were overseas couples coming from Australia, Singapore and UK. We’ve hosted many unforgettable weddings including hosting an oversize wedding with 1,500 total guests. Our ballroom can only cater to 500 guests! The other challenging experience I had was to organize an Arabian wedding where the male and female were not allowed in the same room. Despite communication barrier, we managed to survive!”

Ellie’s favorite venue to host a wedding is the Villa Danieli. With its unique interior of a classical Italian villa, it’s the perfect venue for an intimate Italian-themed wedding in its rustic vineyard-like setting. Led by Chef Gaetano Di Stefano, an Italian chef from Sicily, you get nothing but an authentic Italian feast. Growing up as a true Italian chef, he was inspired by his own grandmother who used to own a restaurant and the passion for cooking grew in him.

According to Chef Gaetano, “To experience the best of the Italian dishes in a wedding, I would suggest a set menu of 5 to 6 courses starting off with scallop followed by a mushroom risotto or seafood. It suits the element of an elegant wedding menu while staying true to its Sicily culture, focusing on the flavor of sea. But then again, the wedding couples are always welcome to request what they prefer and if buffet would suit them better.”

Celestial Court on the other hand is an amazing venue for couples who love the oriental style. Chef Ho Boon, a passionate chef with experiences from Chinese restaurants to hotels has created many unforgettable Cantonese cuisines like his signature Cantonese Roast Duck dish.

“I understand that creating delicious food isn’t enough to cater to current generations. Wedding couples nowadays love food that are visually scrumptious too. Food presentation is very important hence I maintain the authentic flavors of grandma’s cooking and present them in a modern style. I usually propose a menu that I think suits the wedding couples and it usually consist of 9 courses in total, as it brings the meaning of happily ever after in Chinese”, says Chef Ho Boon.
