Hong Kong based Christine Ritter shares her secrets regarding how you can make your wedding day celebration a truly personalised one. From napkins to favours to decoration and accessories, it’s all up to your creativity at Wedding Workshop.
Picking the special date, finding your wedding vendors, confirming them off and finally after all that, anxiously waiting for your big day to come. This is how a normal wedding works, right? However, have you ever thought of having your loved ones gather together during those anxious times to create truly unique and personalised decoration items for your wedding? This is where Workshop Wedding comes in handy, stepping away from the traditional wedding decor and helping you to create a personal environment through exquisite decorations that truly represent you and the two families that will eventually unite.
Where did the workshop idea come from? e.g. Couples looking for some DIY decor for their own wedding, spending time with friends etc.?
I started offering this service to brides after my own wedding, where I really wanted to take the opportunity to create personal decorations, rather than just buy meaningless objects. The great thing about workshopping the decorations is that brides and grooms can really incorporate a touch of their personality in their decor - which always translates to the guests.

What sort of decorations/items can be created in a workshop?
Absolutely everything can be workshopped. In our team, we have a painter, an interior designer, a carpenter, a builder, etc… So the choices are limitless! We have workshopped bespoke napkins, invitation cards, wedding favours and aisle decoration in the past, just to name a few things.
Can you give us a sample workshop which you have organised before?
Sure. One example could be the couple Jen & JC Lombard who decided to get married at the China Club in Central. This beautiful venue already comes with stunning artwork, so the bride’s vision was to create floral centrepieces that were stunning and eye catching, but not too rustic. Big red centerpieces worked perfectly on their dining tables, so we made them to cover all of her guest tables, adding a stunning twist to the dining room.

What was the process like for the above mentioned workshop?
This workshop was held one day before the wedding. Christine, our founder, worked with Victoire and a team of specialists to bring the concept to life - we then got together as a company and created some of the most complex yet efficient supply chains ever!
Midway through the wedding when tables needed to be cleared to increase the dance floor size, we had the opportunity to take some of the rose centrepieces to Jen & JC's hotel room, as well as their house, so that the magic of their evening could continue after the party and hopefully, even a long way in to their new chapter in life.
