The same reasons apply for a beach wedding—and more. For one, your dress doesn't have to be on the pricey side. It's bound to get dirty, no getting around it. Choose a simple white dress to walk barefoot down the aisle in, then recycle it for a dance or a formal showcase.

We visited the Renaissance Koh Samui Resort & Spa in Koh Samui, Thailand. Cocooned on the adorably named Coconut Island, the resort is hemmed by evergreen tropical gardens and perched on top of a hill that gently leads down to the sky-blue waters of Lamai Bay.

If you want something more reflective of Thailand's rich culture, visit the nearby Laem Suwan Naram Temple or the quaint Fisherman Village. Then take a stroll through the Magic Buddha Garden.

The other is more rooted in local culture and offers a Buddhist wedding ceremony involving monks and Thai wedding accessories and garlands.
