For years, this island was not known to many. No doubt, it boasts beautiful white-sand beaches, lush tropical jungles, and has lots of fresh seafood. Despite the potential it holds for tourism, the island was not fully developed. Roads made from red clay and the presence of a lot of potholes were not exactly travel-friendly for tourists. In fact, there weren’t many luxurious beach resorts at the time.
Things took a turn for the better when the Phu Quoc International Airport was built in 2012. With strategic investments in place, the island saw infrastructures being developed after that. The island started out with 850,000 tourists in 2015, and in July 2018, it received 407,000 tourists! That’s just in one month!
Tourists, especially the ones residing in cold countries, will appreciate the warm and sunny weather in Phu Quoc.
According to Novotel Phu Quoc’s director of sales and marketing, Ian Matthews, the best time for a wedding in Phu Quoc Island is to visit would be from November till March where the temperature is between 25°C and 28°C.
Novotel Phu Quoc is the first hotel under an international hotel chain (Accor) to open in Phu Quoc. Over the last four years, it has gained popularity among locals and foreigners.
In fact, it is a beautiful location for weddings!
There are numerous things to do in Phu Quoc. Snorkeling and diving are highly recommended as the island features diverse and beautiful coral reefs. For those looking to just relax and sunbathe, there are plenty of beaches to explore. Bai Sao is one of the more popular beaches and features several beach swings which are pretty Insta-worthy! The beauty of Phu Quoc also makes it perfect for weddings and honeymoon!
Matthews added, “I would say couples must do the cable car at the south of the island.”
The cable car ride starts at Phu Quoc and stops at Hon Thom or Pineapple Island. Recognised as the world’s longest cable car ride, passengers can enjoy a breathtaking view of the sea, coral reefs, and fishing villages.
Matthews also recommends taking a trip to the Pearl Farm, Pepper Farm, and Fish Sauce factory in Phu Quoc!
