On 19 May, the world watched as Prince Henry Charles Albert David, sixth in line to the British throne married former American actress Meghan Markel at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle.
Ms. Markle looked every inch the perfect bride as she stepped out in a simple yet elegant white gown designed by British designer Clare Waight Keller. The delicate five-metre-long wedding veil made from silk tulle was stunningly decorated with hand-embroidered flowers in silk threads.
The newly wed Duke and Duchess of Sussex exchanged wedding vows in front of 600 guests, including members of the royal family and Her Majesty the Queen. Other famous faces which were spotted at the wedding included Serena Williams, Victoria Beckham, George and Amal Clooney and of course, several Meghan’s famous Suits co-stars including Gabriel Macht and Patrick J. Adams.
Prince Harry and Ms Markle first met on a blind date set up by a mutual friend in July 2016. During an interview, Ms Markle claimed that because she grew up in the United States, she did not have a lot of preconceived notions about who he was or the same understanding of the royal family. Ms Markle claimed that what she was most concerned about when being set up on this blind date is if the guy was nice. The two hit it off immediately and the romance blossomed from there.
Upon her marriage, the Duchess of Sussex made history by becoming the first mixed race person in modern history to marry into the British royal family.
As the newlyweds stepped out of the chapel and waved to onlookers, they shared a tender kiss as husband and wife.
